2016 SALVATION ARMY RED KETTLE CAMPAIGN
The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign experienced a record year in 2015. Their report states that “the 2015 Red Kettle Campaign collected $149.6 million, setting a new national fundraising record for the campaign. Thanks to the support of donors and corporate partners, the money raised will help The Salvation Army provide food, shelter and social services to nearly 30 million Americans in need this year.”
Last year Michigan District Kiwanis Bell Ringers gave over 3000 service hours and raised in excess of $172,000.00. That was a fantastic effort, but we can do better. Your club can make a big impact in your community by volunteering to work with The Salvation Army. You are encouraged to make it one of your holiday projects.
Contact the nearest Salvation Army Office to make arrangements for your club members to participate. Be sure to let them know ahead of time that you would like to know the total amount that your club raised.
If you cannot locate a local Salvation Army office, call Danielle at 248-443-5500 if you are in the eastern half of the state or Loren Hagerman Telly at 616-459-3433 if you are in the western half of the state. Detroit Metro, Ann Arbor and Livingston area clubs can register at www.RingBell.org. After registering, you will be assigned to a local Salvation Army Unit that you can work with to make all the necessary arrangements.
Families are in need. Help is critical. That you for your efforts to partner with the Salvation Army Kettle Campaign.
